Barclays Stockbrokers introduces Investment ViewPoint

Barclays Stockbrokers is leading the way in client engagement and thought leadership within the investment sector by introducing Investment ViewPoint; a unique and innovative approach to its communications that uses ‘abacus' imagery to signpost each of its three investment approaches. Barclays Stockbrokers research found two fifths (40%) of its investors make their investment decisions by researching the market*, and the signpost technique allows investors to self-select which one of three carefully crafted ‘investor personalities' they feel most closely matches their investment goals. These are:

Cautious - investors who are risk averse and prefer their investments to be smooth and stable

Moderate - investors who can tolerate some volatility; or

Opportunistic - investors who are willing to take greater risks with the value of their portfolio in order to make potentially greater returns.

Investors are then provided with a range of possible investment ideas and strategies, as well as access to exclusive market insights and research, to guide them as to how they might help themselves to achieve their individual investment goals. Investment ViewPoint has been developed using client insight modelling - with each of the three investment approaches reflect a significant portion of the Barclays Stockbrokers client base.

By recognising that its client base is online and highly mobile, Barclays Stockbrokers is adopting the use of innovative ways of speaking with its clients through interactive media and social networking sites. Almost 95% of Barclays Stockbrokers clients now transact online and the number of pages viewed per client has increased significantly year on year.
