Ward Homes to extend Stamp Duty holiday into 2010

The Chancellor has confirmed that the Stamp Duty holiday on all homes worth up to £175,000 will end on 31st December 2009. But Ward Homes is extending its offers into 2010 to scrap the tax on all its homes up to £250,000.

This effectively means that the majority of the housebuilder’s homes in East Sussex will continue to be exempt from Stamp Duty because Ward Homes could pay it on the buyers’ behalf.

“When people want to move home, Stamp Duty is an additional cost which can sometimes make the difference between being able to afford it or not,” said Nick Fenton, Managing Director of Ward Homes.

“So it’s not good news for anyone looking to buy in 2010 that the Government is ending the exemption period on properties worth up to £175,000.

“If you decide to buy a new Ward home in the New Year, however, you could still effectively pay no Stamp Duty on a home worth up to £250,000. This is a great opportunity for anyone thinking of moving to save themselves thousands of pounds simply by buying from Ward Homes.”

Ward Homes will be extending this offer on developments throughout East Sussex including White Sand in Camber and Martins Mews in Crowborough.

Homes available at White Sand include three and four-bedroom semi-detached and detached houses with prices starting from £269,995.

Homes available at Martins Mews include two-bedroom apartments and two, three and four-bedroom terraced, semi-detached and detached houses with prices starting from £219,995.
