A Victorian Christmas in Shropshire
Shropshire's "Victorian Farm" returns to BBC TV this Christmas when time-warp farmers – Ruth Goodman, Alex Langlands and Peter Ginn - celebrate a traditional Victorian Christmas at the Shropshire Hills farm.
Having already proved a big visitor favourite this year thanks to BBC TV's six-part Victorian Farm, Acton Scott Historic Working Farm takes centre stage once again in a series of "Christmas Specials" on BBC 2 on the 11th, 18th and 24th December.
While viewers wanting to visit the real-life Victorian farm will have to wait until March when Acton Farm re-opens, there's still plenty of Victorian festive fun on offer this month in Shropshire.
Experience Christmas at Blists Hill Victorian Town, Ironbridge Gorge, on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 December and Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 December when visitors can buy unusual gifts in the Victorian shops, join in with carol singers and chat with the townsfolk about a Victorian Christmas in traditionally decorated homes and work places. Admission is £13.25 for adults, £10.50 for 60 plus and £8.50 for children (5-18 in full time education).
