Flybe kicks off special day return flight for FA Cup Tie

Flybe is reaffirming its position as the airline of choice for Newcastle fans with the announcement of a one-off day return flight for fans travelling from Newcastle for the FA Cup Tie between Plymouth Argyle and Newcastle United at Home Park on Saturday January 2nd.

The news is already resulting in seats being snapped up by fans, whose alternatives include an 820-mile round trip by road or a 27-hour return train journey. The flight also illustrates Flybe’s commitment to championing the local communities in which it operates and highlights its understanding of its regional travellers’ needs.

Toon fans will also be delighted to learn that the flight will be operated by Flybe’s very own Kevin Keegan aircraft, unveiled in 2008 by the club’s legendary former manager.

The one way fare, from £40.99 including taxes and charges, is available for booking at flybe.com.

To help the day run even smoother, Flybe has teamed up with Carmel Coaches to offer an £11 return coach transfer that will meet the 'King Kev Toon Special' flight at Exeter International Airport and take them to Home Park for the match, returning to the airport in good time for the return flight.

Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer, Mike Rutter, says:  “From the moment the balls came out of the hat for this important tie, we knew that Newcastle fans faced a hugely challenging journey just to reach the game.  Flybe is delighted to be able to arrange this special convenient and cost effective alternative. This service will allow Newcastle fans to enjoy both the pre and post match atmosphere all without the dread of having to drive several hundred miles or endure the stress of an extended and possibly delayed train journey at this time of the year coupled with an overnight stay in Plymouth.”
