Buyers appear to be showing a renewed faith in the Scottish housing market. The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors* noted signs of rising confidence in the Scottish market, with a ‘noticeable increase in buyer commitment and shortened selling periods for good quality stock’.

Further evidence of the demand for high quality homes can be found at Redrow Homes’ Graemeslea venture in Aberuthven, Perthshire, where some £2.5 million worth of homes have been sold in recent months.

Diana Newton, sales director for Redrow Homes (Scotland) said: “The comments made by the RICS certainly ring true for our exclusive three, four and five bedroom homes at Graemeslea.

“We have seen a marked increase in not only people viewing homes at Graemeslea but in those who are committed to investing in a new home and since March have sold some £2.5 million worth of properties.”

When the Registers of Scotland** published details of house prices for the third quarter of 2009 (July to September), Perth and Kinross was one of only four local authority areas to have shown increases in average property prices compared to the previous year.

Their figures showed that prices in Perth and Kinross increased by 1.6% on the previous year and a massive 15% from the previous quarter (April to June).

The volume of residential sales in Perth and Kinross showed a quarterly change of 37.9% with a 58.6% increase in value.

Diana commented: “Our remarkable sales record at Graemeslea is clearly borne out in these official statistics.

“The popularity of our large and luxurious homes truly is testament to the high standard of workmanship that buyers have come to expect from Redrow.”

Graemeslea is beautifully located with a selection of homes benefiting from stunning open views of the Ochil Hills.

Residents can relax and enjoy the tranquil surroundings with excellent local amenities just a short drive away in the quaint town of Auchterarder. And with easy access to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee and Perth, Graemeslea is perfectly placed for commuters.

Diana said: “Graemeslea is the ideal retreat for those who want to escape the rat race and the hustle and bustle of city life. And with the property market in Perth and Kinross showing some of Scotland’s best increases, those who invest in homes at Graemeslea could potentially find that the value of their new home increases even before they move in.”

There’s one last remaining three-bedroom home at Graemeslea priced at just £159,995; while four-bedroom homes are available from £289,995 and five-bedroom homes from £374,995.

“At Redrow we recognise that queuing for the family bathroom can be frustrating; that’s why our four and five-bedroom homes are complete with not one but two en-suites. It’s the perfect solution for busy households,” Diana commented.

“A selection of our properties also include a study; providing a dedicated quiet place for children to do their homework or a home office for mum or dad.”
