Find your competitive edge at Race Retro 2010
This year’s Race Retro is promising the latest in high-quality components, aimed at making any historic motor sport entrant that little bit more competitive in their chosen discipline. Held at Stoneleigh Park, Coventry, from 12th to 14th March 2010, leading businesses will be showing-off their products and services for both cars and motorcycles, from complete engine build-ups to camshaft coating and bodywork rebuilds.
Titan Motorsport is promoting its recently-introduced Traction Master limited-slip differentials line-up, which are aimed at all forms of motor sport. The company is sharing a stand with Alfaholics, which will be showing an Appendix K 1965 1600GTA. Alfaholics is promoting its recently-opened Race Workshop, which can build cars, as well as maintain and upgrade competition cars.
CP Pistons and Carrillo, specialists in the manufacture of high performance pistons and rods, was founded to service the needs of enthusiasts and racers who desire to build top performing engines. As well as showcasing its expansive product offering for the historic market, CP Pistons and Carrillo hopes to reconnect with racers and builders alike in order to further its offering.
On the electrics’ side Powervamp Racing is demonstrating its batteries, chargers and grid start packs, plus related accessories, which include brackets, switches, connectors and cables.
Rotating electrics specialist Racemettle will have its range of high-torque starter motor and alternators on display, including its Dynalite alternator, which looks like a period Lucas dynamo – yet produces 80 percent more power, and weighs 40 percent less, than an original unit. There’s also a range of uprated water pumps for Triumph and MG models.
Look out too for TR specialist Racetorations, which has a comprehensive range of engine parts, most designed and manufactured by this long-established Triumph specialist.
But if it’s thermal management you’re after, Camcoat Performance is showing its high performance coatings, which can be used on exhausts, pistons and combustion chambers. Camcoat says that on exhaust manifolds there’s not only more heat retention, but more power and less noise, while on pistons there’s less friction and less carbon build-up.
So for anyone wanting to make their classic car or bike quicker during the 2010 season, Race Retro promises a chance to gain ‘the unfair advantage’. To book tickets and for the latest updates, visit raceretro.com.
