New breaks explore UK’s rich heritage
Discover the history of different areas of Britain on a selection of new ‘Explore the UK’ sightseeing breaks – combining walking and touring – courtesy of HF Holidays, the UK’s largest walking and leisure activity holidays company.
For example, explore the landscapes of the Lake District that have inspired writers and artists for more than 300 years with highlights including the northern lakes of the Lake District National Park, the gardens of Dalemain, Acorn Bank Gardens, Dove Cottage and the Wordsworth Museum.
A three-night break starting 11 August costs £319 per person, twin-share, whilst five nights starting 3 May cost £529 inclusive of full board accommodation at Derwent Bank Country House, located on the waterfront on Derwent Water.
Or explore Sussex, taking in the River Rother and the town of Midhurst – with its ruins of Cowdray and links with the author HG Wells – the Roman road of Stane Street and the market town of Arundel with its cathedral and castle.
Starting 2 April, the cost of the four-night break is £415 inclusive of full board accommodation at the company’s Abingworth Hall Country House – set beside its own lake in eight acres of grounds in the South Downs.
Prices quoted also include the holiday programme and the services of leaders.
Additional areas covered on these holidays are the Cotswolds, North Yorkshire and the Western Scottish Highlands.
