Cut your carbon footprint at Base

15th January 2010 Print

With ‘carbon footprints’ now firmly embedded in the nation’s consciousness, those who choose to live in a town centre and walk to work and the shops, or take public transport, stand to lessen their impact on the planet.

According to recent figures, the average Briton, driving an average car, pumps out more than one tonne of CO2 per year whilst commuting the average distance of 8.3miles. Crest Nicholson’s Base development in Brentwood, offers commuters a short journey into London, with an even shorter walk to the station from the development.

Negating the need for a car, Base is located less than 500 metres from Brentwood train station from which regular services run into London Liverpool Street taking just 38 minutes. The development is also just a short walk from the retail and leisure facilities in Brentwood, which include a wide range of bars, cafes and restaurants as well as major high street shops. It is also conveniently linked to local cycle routes leading into the town and also to Brentwood train station.

Annette Cole, Sales and Marketing Director at Crest Nicholson Eastern comments: “Base offers residents a contemporary and stylish town centre home that is conducive to helping residents cut their carbon footprint. Its location means the town centre is just a short walk away or cycle away and the design of the development includes a number of cycle storage areas and bike racks which are for the exclusive use of residents. We are keen to encourage residents of Base to take advantage of how close everything is to the development and lead a healthy lifestyle rather than driving a car everywhere.”

Base comprises 350 new properties, comprising one and two bedroom apartments as well as three bedroom town houses. The stylish properties come complete with fully fitted kitchens featuring a comprehensive range of modern integrated Bosch appliances including a fridge/freezer and washer dryer; reducing the upfront costs for any investor.

Prices at Base start from £175,000 for a one bedroom apartment. For further information about Base, visit crestnicholson.com.
