Glasgow Restaurateurs’ Association (GRA) and Glasgow City Marketing Bureau have joined forces to launch Dinearound as part of Celtic Connections 2010.

First introduced in 2004, the successful Dinearound scheme runs at selected periods throughout the year and encompasses a range of special offers at over 45 GRA member restaurants, allowing diners in Glasgow to enjoy a three course meal with a glass of wine from as little as £14.95 per person.

With offers valid until February, the Celtic Connections Dinearound 2010 specifically compliments events taking place as part of the festival and can be accessed at graonline.co.uk and via seeglasgow.com.

Celtic Connections is Europe’s premier winter music festival, running from 14th-31st January and comprising of 300 concerts, ceilidhs, talks, workshops, free events and late night sessions across 14 venues.

David Maguire, Chief Executive of Glasgow Restaurateurs’ Association, said; “The GRA is the only organisation of its type in the UK and, together with Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, we’re delighted to support Celtic Connections through Dinearound. This is the third year that we have been involved with the festival and we expect to top the 10,000 meals generated by our member restaurants compared to last year, as gig-goers gain a growing appreciation of what Glasgow’s dining out scene has to offer.”

He continued; “GRA promotes excellence and innovation across the restaurant scene and how better to do this than to support Celtic Connections, which showcases musicians and performers at the very top of their game.”

Jade Hewat, Celtic Connections Festival Manager, said: “We have musicians visiting Glasgow from all over the world to take part in Celtic Connections and GRA’s voucher scheme is a great way for these artists to experience what the city has to offer. We’re delighted to be working with GRA and GCMB to be able to offer this opportunity to musicians and the Dinearound 2010 offers are fantastic for festival fans.”

Whilst those attending a Celtic Connections show can sample the wide variety of Dinearound 2010 offers, the artists performing during the 18 day festival use a voucher scheme to dine out as they choose at any participating GRA venue, allowing them to explore the quality and variety of dining experience available in Glasgow.

Scott Taylor, Chief Executive, Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, said: “We are delighted to work with Glasgow Restaurateurs’ Association to ensure that both locals and visitors alike will enjoy an enhanced experience of the city during the Celtic Connections festivities.”

He continued; “Since its inception in 2004, the Dinearound scheme has proved to be very popular with both the participating restaurants and with diners. With the great offers available and increased visitor numbers to Glasgow during the festival, the Celtic Connections Dinearound 2010 should be the most successful yet.”
