Property experts are tipping Annecy in south-eastern France to become a major property investment hotspot next year (2010).  A beautiful medieval town, often referred to as the French Venice, and standing at the gateway to the French Alps, Annecy has it all including stunning scenery, Europe’s cleanest lake, history, arts and culture and great gastronomy.

A Place In France, the UK’s specialist in the sale of new properties in France, has just launched the details of three new developments in and around Annecy with prices starting from €295,000 for a one bedroom high specification lakeside apartment.

Annecy is an attractive place to live in or visit year round and in terms of building development, the town and its environment is highly protected. This stringent approach also applies to the Lake and its shores and is reflected in the price of property for sale in the area. The close proximity of the high alpine ski resorts gives the advantage of a dual season destination with much to offer in terms of activities and leisure pursuits in winter and summer.

With a first class infrastructure Annecy is now in the bidding for the 2018 Winter Olympics.

A Place In France Manager Director Patricia Fevrier enthuses about the region. “Located at the junction of the principal routes between Italy and Geneva, Annecy is a cosmopolitan destination with a vibrant and dynamic local economy. This has a positive effect on the property market. Well located quality properties, such as the three developments we are offering, enjoy sustained capital growth and there is also a strong on-going rental demand be it for holidays or permanent move”.

Annecy is 35 minutes drive from the French Alps ski resorts, 30 minutes from both Geneva and Chambery airports and 7.30hours from Calais. The TGV from Paris takes 3.30hrs.
