Barratt to boost Exeter property market
Exeter’s housing market recovery received a new boost this month when the region’s leading housebuilder said it would be opening two key new developments in the next six months alone.
Barratt will start work on the two new developments comprising 175 new homes in the first half of 2010. The developments have a total sales value of £27.4m and provide further evidence that the property market in the region is recovering ahead of some other parts of the country.
“There is still strong demand for houses in this area and this is helping the housing market outperform expectations,” said sales director Caroline Hill.
“We would not be making this significant commitment to the market in this area unless we were confident about its prospects in the medium-term.
“By building these developments we will be bringing new jobs to the area and we will also be creating well-designed, competitively-priced new homes which local people need,’’ she said.
New developments include the first phase of home at Wynham Place in Yeovil and at Market Quarter in Plympton.
