British born AMA Supercross racer, Steven Clarke, made a guest appearance in the UK at the weekend, as he joined the MVR-D Suzuki team for round three of the British Supercross Championship held at the Echo Arena in Liverpool.

Taking time-out from his preparations for the East Coast AMA Supercross Lites Championship, Clarke showed the benefits of his training, qualifying for the British Open main event on the RM-Z250, and winning with some ease over current championship leader Gordon Crockard.

Qualifying for the International SX1 and SX2 classes on the night too, Clarke took a second spot in the SX2 class, before going on to push former World SX champion Heath Voss in the SX1 final, until a small spill relegated him to third pace at the flag.

Clarke: “I'd firstly like to thank the MVR-D Suzuki team for giving me the opportunity to ride and enjoy the new fuel-injected RM-Z250. This is my first race back since my injury at the end of last year, so to take the win in the British open and podiums in the international races is really positive.”

Clarke flew back to America on Sunday night to continue preparations for the AMA Championship, but he will be back in the UK with the team this Friday to compete at the O2 Arena in London for the fourth and final round of the year.
