World Cup fun for WAGs at Jolly Beach Resort and Spa

27th January 2010 Print

Jolly Beach Resort & Spa has a winning game plan to ensure all guests enjoy next year’s World Cup: the boys watch the live matches on giant screens, while WAGs indulge in other passions, such as preening in the resort’s spa or VIP shopping trips to the stylish boutiques of St John.

The giant screens will be in the all-inclusive resort’s Games Room and will show all matches live, so die-hard fans need not miss a second of play, provided they can tear themselves away from the best beach in Antigua where the resort sits in pride of place. Other attractions include tennis courts, basketball courts, two pools, cocktail bars and restaurants all of which are complimentary at this value-for-money all-inclusive Caribbean hideaway.

Better still, a dedicated programme of alternative entertainment for WAGs means never having to explain the Offside Rule.  WAGs can take refuge in the resort’s exclusive ‘Palms Wellness Centre Spa’ where even the most high-maintenance diva will find a therapy to keep her place in the premier league.

The ‘WAGs indulgence’ package includes a cinnamon body scrub, a signature massage and facial plus a nail polish repaint. This package costs $99US and lasts 80 minutes, so you are kitted out ready to watch extra time and penalty shoot-outs (arguably the most exciting bit of any match).  You just have to hope there are no ‘sudden deaths’ with the chaps all fighting to get the newly-beautified WAGs’ attention (spa treatments payable locally).

Other activities laid on to entertain WAGs include VIP shopping trips and jewellery making lessons using local beads and shells to make glamorous adornments.

The resort is entering into the spirit of the World Cup throughout the tournament with Lucky 6 football on the lawn and World Cup Trivia with great prizes up for grabs. Evening entertainment includes a World Cup jersey pool party and a celebration dance party with Antigua’s number 1 DJ.

Leading operators featuring the resort include Thomson Worldwide, Kuoni, Thomas Cook, British Airways Holidays, Virgin Holidays and Hayes and Jarvis.  For example:-

Virgin Holidays is offering 7 nights from £979pp including flights, transfers and all-inclusive accommodation.  Valid from 02 – 30 June 2010.  Subject to availability. See virginholidays.com.
