A new art event for the Capital

The team behind Brighton Art Fair have announced a brand new art event in the Capital - The Palace Art Fair - to be held at Fulham Palace, London from 7th - 10th October, 2010.

The Palace Art Fair will build on what people liked most about the successful Brighton Art Fair, in terms of quality, size and friendliness but transferred to a new venue to attract a new audience. The team believe that there is a real need for a high quality art event in London that can offer a more intimate atmosphere than some of London’s other large scale art events.

Visitors to the Brighton Art Fair in 2009 were delighted with the event.

Like Brighton, The Palace Art Fair will showcase just over 100 contemporary artists across all media who will exhibit and sell their work direct to the public. This keeps the atmosphere informal and intimate, providing a wonderful environment for first time art buyers or for collectors looking to seek out 'up and coming' artists.

Fulham Palace is of medieval origin and was the country home of the Bishops of London until 1975. It is adjacent to Bishop’s Park, houses a museum of the palace's history, as well as an extensive botanical garden. The Palace has recently been renovated and will be a fantastic venue to host an art fair. The Palace is accessed from Fulham Palace Road close to the northern end of Putney Bridge. The nearest tube station is Putney Bridge just a 5 minute walk away.

A beautiful cafe in the Georgian wing of the palace with an outside terrace provides an area to relax and contemplate potential purchases.

Palace Art Fair, Fulham Palace, Bishop's Avenue, London, SW6 6EA, 7th - 10th October 2010, entrance £6 (under 14s free).
