Motorsport adventure holidays for kids

3rd February 2010 Print

For parents with children who can’t wait to get behind the wheel, PGL has a choice of special interest motorsports holidays where youngsters can learn the basic driving skills which will give them a head start when they finally take to the highway.

Motorsports – seven-night holidays for age groups 7-to-10, 10-to-13 and 13-to-16 years.  Available at six UK locations, these holidays include instruction in driving quad bikes, motorbikes and either go-karts or ATVs. Price per child £519.

Motorsports Pro – a ‘higher octane’ follow-on to Motorsports – for 13-to-16 year olds – with more riding time on a variety of tracks and obstacle courses to help develop technical skills.  This holiday also gives guests a chance to gain an EASI Rider qualification. This holiday is available at the Caythorpe Court adventure centre in Lincolnshire at a cost of £549 per child.

Learner Driver – again for the 13-to-16s, these seven-night holidays include instruction in driving skills and theory in proper road cars – but not on public roads – covering clutch control, hill starts,  reversing and parking.  Available at the Boreatton Park (Shropshire), Caythorpe Court and Court Farm (Herefordshire) adventure centres, price is £569 per child.

As well as the driving detailed above, all holidays – which are available starting on Saturdays between mid-July and the end of August - include six half-days of multi-activities – everything from abseiling to zip wire – as well as full-board accommodation and evening entertainment.
