Get Kate Moss' grey streaks with Ice Cream Sundae colour technique

Who do you think of when you hear the words ‘blue rinse’? Mrs Slocombe? Annie Walker from the Rovers Return? Certainly not Kate Moss. And yet Ms Moss’ new silvery blue tones are a hot topic of discussion amongst fashionistas. How grey can you go whilst still looking bold, not old?
W1 hairdresser Karine Jackson has created the Ice Cream Sundae, a technique which results in slices of lemon, ice blue, grey or lilac put through the hair. “It’s suddenly become very fashionable to have a coloured rinse, and the girls that are doing it are not associating it at all with blue rinses, but that’s essentially what it is.”
Karine is tactful about Kate’s new look. “Kate is that little bit older, and there is a danger that pale rinses can age you. You need to make sure, subtly, that everyone knows it’s fake.”
If you go for the blue rinse, Karine recommends a good silver shampoo to stop the highlights going dull. OCS’ silver shampoo is the perfect product.
Jenni Musgrave, 21, is thinking of joining the blue rinse brigade. “I quite like it, but the danger is of it looking grey. I would be more likely to pick a different colour, like pink, to make sure no-one thought I was ageing quickly!”
