Set in acres of beautiful parkland and gardens on the outskirts of Guernsey’s capital St Peter Port, the iconic St Pierre Park Hotel has just been awarded a 4-star rating by Visit Guernsey.

The St Pierre Park has been extensively refurbished in a £ multi-million project in the last six months, with all the bedrooms and bathrooms upgraded to a contemporary, high standard which guests expect of a modern resort hotel.

On hearing confirmation of the 4-star grading, General Manager Dina Le Lacheur said: “We are so proud that all the efforts of the staff at St Pierre Park have now born fruit, and we can move forward with an independent rating confirming the high level of the product and service which we offer here at St Pierre Park”.

Guernsey’s Director of Marketing & Tourism, Chris Elliott, added: “I’m delighted that the hard work and investment that has been put into the St Pierre Park hotel by the hotel staff and directors has paid off. In today’s very competitive market, it’s more important than ever to keep standards high, and the hotel is now off to a flying start for 2010”.

Over the years, the St Pierre Park has welcomed many famous people, including travel presenter Alan Whicker, author Jack Higgins, comedian Ruby Wax, sports celebrities Martin Johnson and Henry Cooper, pop star Elton John and international royalty, including HRH Princess Caroline of Monaco. The hotel is a popular venue for a short break or longer holiday, being set in beautiful parkland, woodland and lakes, and boasting an impressive indoor swimming pool, steam room, Jacuzzi, full equipped gym, as well as outdoor activities including a 9-hole par-3 golf course designed by Tony Jacklin, 3 tennis courts, Trim Trail, crazy golf and a children’s play area. Within its Le Mirage health club, there is also a hair salon and 4 treatment rooms, offering a wide range of treatments, including some aromatherapy treatments which are exclusive to the St Pierre Park, on Guernsey.

Guests may dine in Cafe Renoir restaurant, which serves food all day and has an al fresco dining area for the summer which overlooks the hotel’s picturesque lake and fountain. The St Pierre Park’s bar and lounge has also been upgraded to create the Terrace Cafe Bar, a modern, comfortable area where food and drinks are served throughout the day. With free WiFi available throughout the hotel, the Terrace Cafe Bar is now proving to be an ideal place for an informal meeting or rendezvous, a casual dining experience, or a place to relax whilst watching your favourite events on one of the hotel’s large-screen TV’s.

Escapes to Guernsey are easy, with budget flights from a 10 UK airports, and three ferry routes from the south coast. Three-night “Guernsey Escape” breaks at the St Pierre Park cost from £327 per couple, including evening meals, and there are substantial discounts for children sharing their parents’ room. The hotel also offers a two-night Golf & Leisure Break from £195 per couple, a two-night Celebration Break from £198 per couple, and a two-night Spa Break from £130 per person. The St Pierre Park appears in leading tour operators’ brochures, including Premier Holidays, Preston Holidays and Channel Islands Travel Service.

This February half-term, kids go free at St Pierre Park, with a three-night family break costing from just £297 for a family with up to two children in their own adjoining room absolutely free. There is a baby-sitting service to give parents a little more time to themselves, and for stays of four or more nights, the hotel will include free car hire for the duration of the stay.
