Brits spend as much time planning as they do tanning
ebookers.com, one of Europe’s leading online travel agents, has uncovered that more than 1 in 10 conscientious Brits will invest 24hours or more when it comes to planning their holiday.
This compares to sunbathing for just 24.5hrs once they actually land in their destination, according to research released today.
The research, which polled 4,000 UK adults, reveals that the average Brit will spend a full working day (7.5hrs) planning their trip – from deciding on the destination to researching flight and hotel costs. And women are more likely to invest extra time in holiday planning, spending up to 8.5hrs on average compared to men who’ll only allow 6.5hrs before taking the plunge and booking their trip.
To help holidaymakers minimise the amount of time they spend after work and on weekends working out their travel plans and more easily plan their holidays, ebookers have today launched a new mobile website. The site, ebookers.com, allows anyone with an internet-enabled mobile phone to plan their next holiday. Whether it’s the long commute home or queuing at the supermarket – they will be able to check hotel, flight and car hire information remotely from their mobile phone.
The introduction of the new mobile website by ebookers is the latest in a long line of innovations from the company over recent months. Other tech innovations include improved hotel mapping; increased hotel search functionalities; Live Chat booking assistance; amenity searching; and saved hotel options - all aimed at making holiday planning decisions easier and simpler for travellers.
“As one of the first online travel agents to offer a dedicated mobile website, ebookers.com will allow their customers to research their travel wherever they are, and save precious time.” said Tamer Tamar, President, ebookers.com. “The introduction of this new innovative service is another example of how ebookers delivers technology to help consumers get easy access to high-quality online travel service.”
