Join a house-party with a difference as specialist operator Grape Escapes brings together the twin passions of great wine and world-class music.

The one-off exclusive Bordeaux Classical Music House Party takes place from 18-21 May 2010.

Days will be spent touring Bordeaux’s greatest Chateaux to discover the wines of the Medoc and St Emilion, whilst evenings include a full programme of intimate classical concerts of the Orpheus & Bacchus Music Festival, accompanied by great food and wine.
Celebrating the music of Johan Nepomuk Hummel, the long-running Orpheus & Bacchus Music Festival is hosted at Domaine Le Faure, an 18th century estate just 25 minutes from the historic wine-producing town of St Emilion.

Set amongst 20 acres of beautiful undulating wine-growing countryside, the estate provides the ideal intimate house-party setting and is comprised of three original buildings each with its own pool and gardens; the Maison de Maitre (Le Faure), the wine chai (L’Orangerie) and the chai where the wine barrels and grain were stored (La Musique). The Domaine also features a new tennis court, croquet lawn and boules and three swimming pools.

Highlights of the guided wine-tours include the Château Lafite Rothschild estate, the producer of one of the world’s most exclusive red wines, the Château Cos d’Estournel, and three of St Emilion’s Grand Cru Classé châteaux: Château Guadet St. Emilion, Château Quercy and the outstanding Château Cheval Blanc, one of the top two producers in the region.

Grape Escape’s Bordeaux Classical Music House Party costs £670 per person. The price includes three nights’ accommodation on a twin share basis at the Domaine Le Faure with breakfast, two full-day guided tours to the Medoc and St Emilion wine regions, evening concerts, and aperitifs, dinners and accompanying wines with the artists every evening. The package does not include travel from the UK to Bordeaux.
