Happy family spread the 'Wordsley'

A Black Country family have hailed Wordsley as the best residential area in the region having finally landed a dream home that ticks every single box.
Sam Clift and Ian Walker, plus children Lia (9) and Isabelle (3) are now the proud occupants of a spacious five/six bedroom home at Lawnswood Ride by Taylor Wimpey West Midlands – having moved from Brierley Hill and searching high and low for a home that scored perfect marks on location, build quality, price, amenities, character, environment and accessibility.
Sam explains: “We’d outgrown our small three bed property and desperately needed more space, but we had a very particular idea of the new home we wanted and it took some considerable time to find it. I’d always heard that Wordsley was a much desired and aspirational location - and as soon as we visited Lawnswood Ride we knew we were home.
“Taylor Wimpey has been able to maintain the mature trees and established trees this area is known for and that the best parts of the old hospital building, like the famous clock tower, are being restored and retained. Consequently, it’s got a lot of character for a new build development. The schools are great too and it scores highly on commutability for our work, plus it’s very competitively priced.
“It’s a fantastic location with lots of picturesque public open space worked into in the overall development layout, so I’m not surprised they’ve been selling well ahead of schedule. Indeed, our new home is at the end of a private driveway overlooking the park, so we really feel we’ve landed on our feet. The service from Taylor Wimpey West Midlands has been first class too, especially as we’ve been quite demanding, but nothing has been too much trouble and they’ve really taken the stress and strain out of moving home.”
Taylor Wimpey sales & marketing director, Jan Titley, explains: “We’ve made an excellent start to 2010 and in the West Midlands alone, 32% of properties scheduled for completion in 2010 were reserved last year, as buyers bought early to take advantage of 2009 prices. To be this far ahead of budget already and selling well in advance is great news, but especially in today’s tougher economic climate, so we’re obviously delighted at the progress being made. Despite the current property trend, both visitor levels and sales here have been really encouraging - and we remain optimistic because the desire to buy a new build home is still there, plus more sustainable price levels and low interest levels give us confidence in the affordability of new homes for the future.”
Lawnswood Ride offers a bespoke selection of 86 properties made up of three four/five/six bedroom detached properties, three storey, three/four bedroom townhouses, plus cottage-style semi detached homes – with many overlooking the undulating public open space and the famous hospital clock tower that’s being restored and retained.
