505 Games have announced it has selected two developers to work on the eagerly anticipated Grease video game. Based on Paramount Pictures’ classic film, UK developer Zoe Mode will develop the Wii version and Big Head Games will develop the DS version.

“For this project we knew we had to employ developers of a certain calibre in order to really bring the Grease magic to the world of video games,” commented Ian Howe, Managing Director, 505 Games. “In Zoe Mode and Big Head Games, we feel we have found the talent required to give this film the game it deserves.”

Zoe Mode is best known for its work on the enduringly popular Singstar series as well as Eye Toy: Play and Disney Sing It. Formed in 2007 out of Kuju Brighton, the company now boasts a London arm as well as a newly announced studio in San Francisco.

“Grease is an iconic brand that has spanned generations and we are thrilled to be charged with the responsibility of bringing the Grease legacy to a new medium,” said Ed Daly, General Manager of Zoe Mode.

Since its formation in 2008, Big Head Games has steadily built a strong reputation for producing quality handheld titles.

Managing Director of Big Head Games, Dave Vout commented, “We’re very excited by this project as Grease is the one film everyone remembers. It’s a true classic and we hope to do it justice”.

505 has licensed Grease from Paramount Digital Entertainment.
