Give your Vauxhall a breath of fresh air

5th May 2006 Print
Regular car servicing is essential to maintain the engine and ancillary components in peak tune for trouble-free motoring. The same logic applies to climate control and air conditioning.

Well over 90 per cent of all drivers today enjoy the benefits of an electronically controlled temperature and pollution-free environment inside the car, and most cars up to 10 years old have a pollen or carbon cabin filter fitted as standard.

Air conditioning systems need servicing every couple of years to be fully effective, but this is often overlooked by owners of older cars once the warranty runs out.

Condensation can build up in the air conditioning evaporator during the winter months and become a breeding ground for bacteria and fungi. So if your car ventilation emits a nasty smell every time you turn on the air conditioning, or you are just not sure if the system is really doing its job, Vauxhall MasterFit Centres throughout the UK can offer a competitively priced springtime service to solve any problems.

For less than the cost of a tank of fuel (depending on model), the Spring-Clean disinfecting service removes any bacteria and neutralises unpleasant odours, leaving the passenger compartment a cleaner, fresher smelling environment.

If a more comprehensive service is recommended, Vauxhall MasterFit Centres can follow up the Spring-Clean service with a full leak check to ensure that the air conditioning piping is not faulty. The air conditioning or climate control system is then re-gassed.

Although this does not include the fitting of a new cabin air filter, it would be wise to ask the Vauxhall MasterFit service advisor to replace the existing one if your service records show that it has not been changed within the last two years or 20,000 miles.

A new activated carbon cabin filter will provide protection against fumes, dust, soot, rubber particles from tyres and up to 99.5 per cent of other airborne pollution that on a hot day in heavy traffic can make life behind the wheel a misery, particularly if you suffer from hay fever or other allergies.
