Private buyers pick Vectra!
With its stylish new look and improved driving dynamics, the Vauxhall Vectra has stormed to the top of its class among Britain’s private motorists. In July, 954 Vectras were sold to non-fleet customers through Vauxhall retailers – an increase of 263 per cent compared to July 2005, just before New Vectra was introduced. The impressive increase helped Vauxhall finish the month as Britain’s favourite brand among private buyers – with 7,458 cars sold privately in July, the Luton-based manufacturer was almost 900 cars ahead of its nearest rival.
Vectra Product Manager Andrew Curley said: “The boost in sales for New Vectra goes to show how successful last year’s improvements to the model were. The upmarket new look and greatly improved driving dynamics have obviously proved a huge hit with buyers.”
Much of Vectra’s retail success is due to the astonishingly good value offered by the best-selling Exclusiv model. Priced from only £14,775 on-the-road for the 1.8i 16v VVT, it comes with air conditioning, full-size curtain airbags, a premium CD/stereo, electrically operated front windows, electric heated door mirrors and remote control deadlocking as standard, not to mention Vauxhall’s pioneering Structure Wheel, which has all the visual appeal of an alloy without the cost.
And there’s plenty more to attract retail customers into Vauxhall showrooms over the coming months. As well as the eagerly awaited New Corsa, due in October, buyers can see for themselves the exciting New Astra TwinTop and Sport Hatch with Panoramic Roof, the stunning VXR line-up and family favourites such as Zafira and Meriva.
