London cabbies spread Bermudian sunshine

Ten of the top taxi drivers in London will be feeling the love this year, spreading the warmth of the Bermudian sunshine across the capital.
In an exciting new initiative from the Bermuda Department of Tourism, ten fully liveried London taxis have been unveiled this week. To ensure that passengers get to enjoy the full Bermuda experience, the ten lucky drivers will be sent to experience the island’s pink sand beaches and crystal blue waters first hand.
Painted pink and adorned with the phrase ‘Feel the love’ and Bermuda’s famous shorts, these taxis will bring a piece of island life to the city. The taxis will be further supported from April to June and September to November with an additional 100 taxis with liveried side panels.
“This is the first time we’ve undertaken anything like this in the UK,” says William Griffith, Director of Tourism, Bermuda Department of Tourism. “The British market is of significant importance to us and this year, we intend to renew our efforts and bring a little slice of our beautiful island to the UK.”
Bermuda, just six-and-a-half hours from London and just under two hours from New York, stretches for 21 miles along crystal blue waters, surrounded by a 200-square-mile coral reef plateau. Bermuda's activities offer a range of holiday options, including wreck dives, horseback riding and smooth pink beaches to relax on till dusk. Accommodation ranges from luxury resorts to intimate cottages, all incorporating the hospitality unique to the Bermuda experience. For more information visit: gotobermuda.co.uk
