Vauxhall Masterfit tyre prices cheaper than Kwik-Fit

There is no point in paying more for new tyres than you need to, so why is it that so many motorists always seem to head for their nearest fast-fit when the time comes to lay down new rubber?

If you drive a Vauxhall, the best deal in town is almost certainly available from your local Vauxhall MasterFit Centre. Independent research recently conducted at 50 locations spread throughout the UK found that their tyre prices beat those of Kwik-Fit on eight out of every 10 tyres.

Vauxhall MasterFit’s price advantage embraces such well known brands as Bridgestone, Dunlop, Continental and Pirelli. The survey by an independent research company compared the prices charged by 50 Vauxhall MasterFit Centres with those of 50 Kwik-Fit centres in the same locations.

All sizes, speed ratings and tread patterns can be supplied to meet the needs of owners of current and older Vauxhall models. The price you are quoted will include a new valve, wheel balancing and environmentally friendly disposal of your old tyres.

Before fitting any new tyres, the centre’s Vauxhall-trained technicians will check the tread depth and condition to make sure you do need replacements.

But remember that although the legal minimum tread depth is 1.6mm, both RoSPA and Roadsafe recommend that tyres are replaced when the depth falls to 3mm. Research has shown that tyres with a tread depth of 3mm offer 25 per cent better grip in wet conditions than those worn down to the legal limit.
