New homes for Dalkeith

Midlothian homebuyers will have more to choose from this weekend when developer Redrow launches sales at its Pear Tree Park venture, in Dalkeith.
Located approximately seven miles from Edinburgh, Pear Tree Park will eventually comprise 73 new homes in sizes and styles to suit the needs and aspirations of most home owners.
A selection of two and three-bedroom terraced homes will be released for sale this weekend, but there will also be some four-bedroom detached houses to follow in this first phase of 29 new homes.
The initial release – available from Saturday, March 20th – includes Canterbury style houses with two double bedrooms and three-bedroom Fairwoods, which include an en-suite to master bedroom.
The homes will feature Redrow’s latest interior specification with contemporary kitchen choices, top brand name appliances and beautiful bathrooms boasting quality fixtures and fittings.
“Redrow has something to offer everyone, from first time buyers and downsizers to growing families in search of extra space,” says Mary McHutchison, sales manager for Redrow Homes (Scotland), who are also building at Optima, in Edinburgh, and The Potteries, at Prestonpans.
“And unlike some older second hand properties, a brand new home won’t need expensive repairs and renovations, is up to 40% more energy efficient than one built even 10 years ago and is covered by a 10-year ‘Buildmark’ guarantee.”
Pear Tree Park, off Lauder Road, in Dalkeith, is accessible by the A68 Dalkeith Northern Bypass, a route which connects the A68 to the south of the town to a new junction on the A720 Edinburgh City Bypass.
The planned reopening of the Waverley Railway line linking Edinburgh through Midlothian to the Scottish Borders will also pass relatively close by, with good transport links planned between Dalkeith and proposed stations at Shawfair, Eskbank, Newtongrange and Gorebridge. This line is expected to be operational by 2013.
Prices for Pear Tree Park will be announced at the launch weekend.
