David Wilson Homes has released new homes under the government’s HomeBuy Direct scheme at its Tangmere development, Blenheim Park where you could buy a three-bedroom house for just £170,800.

“This newly released house is priced at £244,000, but it can be bought for as little as £170,800 through the government’s HomeBuy Direct scheme,” reports Mark Docherty, David Wilson Homes’ sales director.

“The scheme provides eligible buyers with an equity loan of up to 30 per cent, jointly funded by David Wilson Homes and the government. It makes new homes accessible to those who think they are currently priced out of the property market.”

The three-bedroom, end of terrace house - in the Fairway design - comes with a single detached garage and parking space. The interior includes an entrance hall, cloakroom, study, lounge with French doors, kitchen/dining area and an en-suite master bedroom.

“HomeBuy Direct is open to first-time buyers, key workers and others who are currently renting,” Mark continued. “People who have previously owned a home but are now unable to do so – perhaps where relationships have broken down – can also apply.

“Eligible households will have an income of up to £60,000 and would not normally be able to afford to buy a suitable property on the open market.”

Buyers must have at least five per cent of the 70 per cent to use as a deposit. They can redeem the loan in instalments, purchasing up to 100 per cent of the equity after their initial purchase by buying additional equity at the market rate. Alternatively, if they sell their home, the equity loan is repaid by way of a proportionate share of the sale proceeds.

Blenheim Park is built on the site of an old RAF airfield, which played a pivotal role in the Battle of Britain. When complete, it will offer a selection of apartments, coach houses and houses. The development lies close to countryside and just three miles north east of the city of Chichester, which dates back to Roman times.

Chichester offers a wealth of special events throughout the year and its harbour is a haven for yachting enthusiasts. The nearby South Downs becomes a hive of activity in July, when Goodwood Racecourse hosts ‘Glorious Goodwood’, a highlight of the summer sporting calendar.
