Le Méridien Al Aqah to launch teen venue

An overwhelming response from guests for a teenagers’ venue led to the development of Teens Club Al Aqah.

With 60 percent of the resort’s European leisure visitors returning to the resort, parents were looking for an alternative, exciting and challenging meeting place for their children who had graduated from Penguin Club.

While The Penguin Club, which caters to children aged from 04 to 12, has won a place in the heart of children visiting Le Méridien Al Aqah, it’s time for teenagers to have a venue of their own. Complete with internet, Wii and comprehensive DVD library, Teens Club Al Aqah – which will launch on March 26 - is the latest in the leisure offerings at Le Méridien Al Aqah, catering to guests aged between 13 and 16. The Club offers a myriad of activities, including weekly dancing shows and disco nights for teenagers staying at the resort, ensuring the younger guests combine fitness with social activities

“The beautiful surroundings of the East Coast encourage children’s imagination and creativity and the Teens Club program has been designed to both entertain and challenge our teenage guests. With the exceptional popularity of Le Méridien Al Aqah as a family getaway, we responded to feedback from parents requesting for something more than a kids club to cater to their grown up kids,” said Patrick Antaki, General Manager, Le Méridien Al Aqah.

Teens Club Al Aqah is located in the resort’s basement level, near Spa Al Aqah so gives parents an ideal chance to pamper themselves while their teens enjoy the facilities.

It is open daily from 10:00 am to 10:00pm and the teens are supervised by the resort’s Entertainment Team.  The team ensures safety and responsibility, allowing the teens to have a great time and parents to plan their own leisure activities.

The club’s latest-technology facilities include an internet center (with safety screening to ensure the websites are teen-friendly) where teens can interact with the club’s Facebook page. The facilities also include video games, Wii challenge, cinema room, and DVD library.

Activities include giant chess, pool games, ping-pong, air hockey, football tables, camping, water sports, karaoke, darts, mini-gym, a book library, and billiards room.

The club offers a variety of scheduled activities, updated regularly with the latest trends and technology, and is supervised by qualified entertainers from the resort to ensure teens have an ideal opportunity to make new friends and socialize during their holiday.
