MVR-D Suzuki rider, Matiss Karro, enjoyed a solid day of racing at round two of the Maxxis British Motocross Championship at Mallory Park in Leicestershire yesterday, finishing every session inside the top-ten and ending the day in sixth overall.

Following a relative baptism of fire at the opening round of the series in Devon just a few weeks earlier, where the new three race format caught the young Latvian out, Karro knew he had to push hard from the start of each race, doing so early-on by qualifying for the new Superpole session and ending that in sixth.

A solid trio of race results, despite tangles with other riders, saw Karro take his RM-Z250 to eighth and tenth place finishes in the opening motos before his best finish of the day in the final race with a sixth, ending the round in eighth overall.

Karro commented, "Not a blistering day, but we managed to bring home solid results throughout. We still need to push harder from the start though. If I can rectify this, then it should take away the problems with silly crashes and tangles with other riders. I'll be working hard on this before the next round of the championship in Scotland."

In MX1 teammate Carl Nunn enjoyed a similar day, albeit slightly less successful, finishing the day just outside of the top-ten in 11th. A crash and subsequent ripped-off brake hose saw Nunn finish the first race in 14th, before bringing his RM-Z450 home in 10th in the second race and 13th in the final.

Nunn commented, "Not a great day to be perfectly honest. I struggled with my starts again more than anything. Naturally I'd have preferred to finish higher up the order, but at least we've ended the day with some solid points and have six weeks to improve things before the next round of the series."

Team manager, Mark Chamberlain added,"Certainly not our best day of competition. There are no excuses. We are not where we should be and we need to work to improve this in the coming weeks. Both riders need to improve their starts and if they do this, it removes the problem of crashes and silly incidents. Aside from this, the attitude of both riders and the team as whole is still very positive and I believe we all have the desire and ability to rectify the problems we are experiencing at present."
