Primrose Cottage - Northumbria Coast & Country Cottages

The North East of England with its stunning coastline, historical buildings and great walks is an ideal place to visit over the Easter school holidays - and there are some lovely places to stay.

In the pretty village of Alnmouth on the banks of the river Aln is Paradise Lodge. This is a completely renovated property which gives stunning views over the sea and estuary, all the village amenities and the golf course are a short walk away. It has three bedrooms and a week’s stay is £785.

Just a few hundred yards from the beautiful sandy beaches at Dunstan Steads is Primrose Cottage, the ideal bolt hole for a couple. It is a single story cottage which has recently been refurbished, with wooded flooring throughout and a week costs £375.

The aptly named Book House in Warkworth has been totally renovated to an exceptionally high standard, with modern facilities and beautifully co-ordinated furnishings. The transformation of the former book shop in the centre of the village means you are close to excellent restaurants, the historic castle and walks along the river Coquet. It has two bedrooms and a week is £560.
