Charlotte Church juggles family life

Charlotte Church feels a physical "wrench" when she leaves her children to go to work.

The Welsh singer - who is currently working on the judging panel of the  new BBC programme 'Over The Rainbow' - claims she turned down earlier TV projects because it was too difficult to leave her  two-and-a-half year old daughter Ruby and 13-month-old son, Dexter.

Discussing the children she has with her rugby player partner Gavin Henson, she said: "I really wanted that time with them - even now it's a bit of a wrench. I don't like being away from the babies too much."

The 24-year-old beauty will help Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber search for a new star to play Dorothy in a new production of 'The Wizard of Oz' and admitted she plans to be very frank with the contestants.

She added to The Guardian newspaper: "I don't really see it as being opinionated. I see it as being truthful. I just lay it all on the line and I can't really lie.

"It's all about tone for me. If someone's quite nasally but has a beautiful voice, I'm not going to be able to stick that for an hour and a half show, do you know what I'm saying."

The former child star previously spoke about how she wanted the contestants to develop a thick skin because that's what they'd need if they made it in the showbiz world.

She said: "This business all over is harsh - the press, the general public. People can say whatever they like about you, so you have to be quite tough to start off with."
