Miller Homes is ensuring that first-time buyers are not the only ones to benefit from Chancellor Alistair Darling’s Budget, as the UK’s largest independent housebuilder is abolishing stamp duty across all of its current developments* in Scotland over the next month.

Anne Marie Britton, sales director for Miller Homes in Scotland, comments: “We welcome the stamp duty exemption for first time buyers on properties valued under the £250,000 threshold, undoubtedly this is going to provide considerable support. However, the difficulties of the current economic climate affect us all. Therefore, we felt that all Miller Homes’ buyers should be given the opportunity to take advantage of this proposition.”

Whether purchasers are trying to secure a one-bedroom apartment under the threshold or £300,000 detached villa, this campaign will enable a wide-range of buyers to make stamp duty savings in excess of £9,000 on properties reserved before 9th May 2010.

With 75-years of industry experience behind it, Miller Homes was quick to recognise and respond to the challenges of the last three years. The company promptly gauged that there would be no one solution to the obstacles facing buyers and created a choice of products to help ease the situation for them.

From its hugely successful shared equity scheme, MiWay, to its recently launched Deposit Match initiative, which aims to bridge any shortfall in deposit that may keep first time buyers out of the property market, Miller’s innovative schemes continue to make it possible for a wide-range of customers to secure a new home.
