Barclaycard wins at the European Card Acquiring Forum Awards
Barclaycard has taken two prizes at the European Card Acquiring Forum Awards 2010, in recognition of its award-winning products and services, and commitment to its customers.
Barclaycard has led the contactless payments market since it launched Barclaycard OnePulse in September 2007. In association with Barclays, it has now issued over six million contactless cards which can be used in over 20,000 retail outlets across the UK. The ECAF Channel Award recognises the improved customer experience contactless technology offers, backed up by Barclaycard's security guarantees and tangible benefits for merchants.
The Data Security Award was won by Barclaycard for its commitment to increasing and developing Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliance amongst its merchants. The award acknowledges Barclaycard's investment in effective and innovative procedures to prevent payment systems from being compromised, including a PCI DSS Taskforce which ensures understanding and compliance amongst merchants, and customer friendly tools which helps merchants with their reporting.
Stuart Neal, UK Director of Barclaycard Global Payment Acceptance, said: "These awards are a recognition of our investment in, and commitment to, our customers. They acknowledge two key areas for Barclaycard: our belief that contactless technology is the future of payments in the UK, and our commitment to customer security and protection."
