Redrow launches Heritage Collection in Dunfermline

Dunfermline homebuyers can purchase one of a brand new collection of homes before anyone else in Scotland, as Redrow reveals a sample of what’s in store for the rest of the country.

The first homes from the new Heritage Collection of instantly recognisable, traditional designs that combine the best of old and new will be launching at Middlebank Rise on Saturday, April 17.

The new Heritage Collection is a premium housing product with more than a hint of nostalgia. Influenced by the ‘Arts and Crafts’ era, but boasting a specification to meet the needs of modern lifestyles, these homes are a sample of a much larger range that Redrow will be rolling out across its Scottish developments later this year.

A professionally furnished and decorated ‘Dornoch’ show home and a ‘Huntly’ view home will open at Middlebank Rise this weekend to give buyers the opportunity to experience the homes first-hand.

Redrow’s interior designers have created a soft contemporary scheme in the ‘Dornoch’ fully furnished show home, with accents of heather offset against pale pewter and metallic touches in the fabrics to give it a modern twist. White, glass and mirrored furniture inject a sense of space and light.

The three-bedroom property features a convivial open plan kitchen / dining room with patio doors leading out to the garden, perfect for bringing the outdoors in and taking the indoors out.

A generous lounge, hallway and a cloakroom complete the ground floor, with the designers adding a gallery of family photographs in the hallway to give buyers an idea of how they could add their own personal touches to this ideal family home. Upstairs there is master bedroom with en-suite, two further bedrooms plus a family bathroom.

Spacious open-plan living is the order of the day in the two-bedroom ‘Huntly’, with a lounge at front of house leading into a kitchen and dining area at the rear and patio doors opening out onto the back garden. There’s also a cloakroom on the ground floor and upstairs there are two double bedrooms and a family bathroom.

Just as the Arts and Crafts era (c1850 – 1915) grew from the desire to bring back the skill and creativity of the individual craftsman and revive the simplicity and honesty in the way buildings and furnishings were made, Redrow has deliberately set out to reintroduce a high degree of individuality to the way its homes look and feel.

Mary McHutchison, sales manager for Redrow Homes (Scotland), explains: “Feedback from the majority of our customers tells us that they want a conventional two-storey home with an easily accessible garden of their own. They want something that looks traditional, perhaps evocative of the family home they grew up in, but they want it to have the latest statement-making kitchens, bathrooms and good quality fixtures and fittings.

“In designing this, some of the architectural influences, styles, shapes, colours and textures reflected in the Arts and Crafts movement have been brought right up to date with high-specification interiors styled for modern living.”

The homes have traditional exteriors, influenced by time-honoured Scottish design, which hide a contemporary interior specification, featuring convivial open plan living spaces, fashionable kitchen designs with floor to ceiling units, central islands and top brand name appliances, plus bathrooms that are sleek, modern and pleasing to the eye.

Situated off Aberdour Road in Dunfermline’s popular Eastern Expansion Area, Middlebank Rise is just a short drive from Dunfermline town centre. It’s also within easy reach of the Fife countryside and coastal areas, while Dunfermline and Inverkeithing railway stations offer access to Edinburgh city centre within 40 minutes.

Redrow is currently only offering a limited number of two and three-bedroom New Heritage Collection homes at Middlebank Rise, so buyers should act fast if they want to call one of these stunning designs ‘home’.

The fully furnished show home and walk-through view home will be open daily from Saturday, April 17th, 10am to 5.30pm. Prices will also be announced this weekend.
