startrescue.co.uk recovery iPhone app

startrescue.co.uk, one of the UK’s fastest growing breakdown recovery services, announces the first iPhone app; START RESCUE, which allows the user to report a breakdown without having to make a telephone call.

Once registered, reporting a breakdown takes less than 15 seconds.

Once the request for assistance is received by startrescue.co.uk, the process is speeded up yet more because all of the driver’s details will already be known*, including:

identity and contact details
whether or not they are a member
level of cover
location (thanks to the iPhone’s built-in GPS)
and what may be wrong with your vehicle (having selected an option from a list of common symptoms)

Startrescue.co.uk will then call the user to confirm details, saving them the cost of the phone call. Once help is on its way, the driver receives a message stating who will be attending and how long they will be.

“We’ve been listening to our members and we know that what’s important to them is getting their breakdown logged as quickly as possible without call costs and through an app to save battery life, said Richard Lamberth of startrescue.co.uk.

“The feedback from our members has been very positive with a high number of downloads, and we’ve had a fair amount of interest from non-members, who can download the app for free and keep it for "peace of mind" should they too breakdown.”
