Bank holiday shenanigans at Bewilderwood

12th April 2010 Print

If your little ones like to run wild during bank holidays, the Soopa-Doopa Spring Spree at Bewilderwood, Norfolk’s curious treehouse adventure park, will have them exploring the woodland to learn more about the leafy surroundings and the little critters who live there.

From Saturday 1st to Monday 3rd May, little explorers are invited to go in search of the hedgehogs, deer, owls, ladybirds, rabbits and foxes that play in the Bewilderwood undergrowth or treetops. With hands on workshops and an exciting trail weaving through woods, it’s the perfect opportunity to discover the park while learning more about the wild world around them. Plus, all this extra fun’s for free.

Inspired by the animals they see and the magical surroundings, children can get creative at the Environmental Art Workshops by making something artistic from a mixture of woodland artefacts and recycled materials.  Workshops run daily at set times throughout the day - it’s a great opportunity to craft a wonderful woodland keepsake from the visit.

The Wild Woodland Trail is another way to find out more about the creatures and critters that live in the Bewilderwood woodland. Whether crawling through enchanted tunnels, soaring the treetops, meandering across pathways and scaling wobbly walkways, children will learn new and exciting facts about the woodland wanderers they spot along the way.

Jo Artherton, Bewilderwood’s Marketing Manager, “We want to offer something extra this bank holiday - we know it can be difficult to keep the children entertained plus it’s always fun to try something new. This bank holiday we want children, as well as adults, to engage in the natural world around them and learn a thing or two about wildlife, whilst they’re having fun. It’s a perfect combination for a soopa-doopa spring bank holiday whilst at the same time offering something different for our regular visitors”.

Now open is Bewilderwood’s brand-spanking new on-site shop, called the Bizarre Bazaar, which has undergone a big expansion and is now three times the size. It’s packed with fantastic gifts including books, soft toys, sweets and a new range of Bewilderwood branded gifts.

Bewilderwood is located in woodland off the A1062 near Wroxham, situated near the beautiful surrounding of Hoveton Little Broad.
