Local estate agents recommend Ipswich as value for money

With Hometrack stating that house prices rose in February at their fastest rate since the recession began, there is an increased confidence in the property market. Estate agents in Ipswich, Suffolk, agree, stating that the market in the area has grown by 27% since this time last year and is much stronger than in the surrounding areas.

For those looking to purchase a new home in this growing market, Crest Nicholson has two popular developments on offer in Ipswich; Blakenham Park on the outskirts of the town and Vista conveniently situated near to the town centre.

Jeff Welsh of Connells Estate Agents comments: “We are currently seeing a much stronger property market in Ipswich than in surrounding areas such as Colchester, which was once very popular. Ipswich often goes unnoticed, but the town has a lot going for it; it has some of the top schools in the area, as well as Suffolk New College which has had a lot of money spent on it recently and offers a lot of potential growth in the area.”

Jeff continues: “Not only has Ipswich become the new cut off point for commuters to London, but with house prices less expensive than nearby Colchester and only an extra 15 minutes on the train, we are also seeing a lot of people commuting into the town from the surrounding areas and are finding that these people are choosing to move here for work. I would say the popularity of the town comes down to the fact that Ipswich is still very good value for money.”

For purchasers looking to commute, yet still reap the benefits of town and countryside living, Ipswich is the perfect location with a great selection of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars to cater for every taste as well as the stunning Suffolk countryside on the doorstep. Both schemes also enjoy excellent transport links, with London Liverpool Street just over an hour away from Ipswich train station and easy access to both the A12 and A14.

Annette Cole, Sales and Marketing Director, Crest Nicholson Eastern comments: “Both Crest Nicholson developments in Ipswich have proved extremely popular with purchasers as there are properties available for all types of buyer, with starter homes available at Blakenham Park and a new phase of family houses available at Vista which is close to some of Ipswich’s best schools. It is no wonder that people are being drawn to the town as it is such a diverse place, and suits all tastes with plenty of fantastic restaurants, great bars and clubs as well as the Harbourside and some lovely expansive parks.”

Vista is a striking collection of one and two bedroom apartments. Set off Woodbridge Road it is just a 15 minute walk to Ipswich’s vibrant town centre. At nearby Blakenham Park, it is currently purchasers’ last chance to buy, with just five two and three bedroom cottages available. The properties at Blakenham Park come in a range of different designs inspired by elements of the local architectural vernacular and have been cleverly arranged in a series of curving crescents punctuated with leafy courtyards and communal landscaped squares.

All homes are finished to the high standard associated with Crest Nicholson and properties are fitted with modern kitchens. Bathrooms and en suites incorporate smart white sanitaryware finished with contemporary Hansgrohe chrome accessories.
