Cathedral cities have the feel good factor for home hunters

History mingling with the modern, soaring spires, pretty shops and university life – is it any wonder that Lincoln ranks highly in the list of cathedral cities with the feel good factor.
Research by Savills reveals that cathedral cities have developed as highly sought after locations over the past decade, where house prices have risen in line with desirability from discerning home hunters.
New homes builder Stamford Homes has enjoyed a long and successful association with Lincoln over the years, with a portfolio of prestigious developments across the city and its outskirts.
In recent years, its has provided families with a wide range of homes at Colonia in Longdales Road, Hungate and Michaelgate in Uphill, Castlegate, Carlton Heights and Hawthorn Heights on Bunkers Hill, Parklands in Birchwood and Cathedral Heights in Waddington.
Its latest new homes plans for the city are at Carholme Road, earmarked for a stunning 235-home development comprising apartments and two and three-storey homes, some of which will enjoy views towards Lincoln’s beautiful cathedral.
Work on the new housing development is hoped to start later this year, subject to planning permission, and will involve extensive job creation and job security for those involved with the construction of the homes over the five-year development.
The mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes proposed for the development is designed to have wide appeal to homebuyers – from first time buyers to families and service personnel from around the local RAF bases.
Stamford Homes regional sales and marketing director Peter Bond said: “Lincoln is such a delightful location with an eclectic mix of attractions – from the elegant cathedral and the ancient castle built by William the Conqueror to the buzziness of Brayford Wharf and all its associated vibrancy. It is no wonder that people want to move here or continue to make it their home.
“We are thrilled to be back in Lincoln and are confident our latest portfolio of new homes will continue to fire the imagination of home hunters across the board.”
