Copthorne Hotel Newcastle unveils the ‘Dauntless Suite’
To commemorate its strong links to the Royal Navy, the Copthorne Hotel Newcastle has re-named one of its function rooms the “Dauntless Suite”, in honour of new ship Dauntless.
The ship is one of six new Type 45 destroyers, which are the largest and most powerful air defence destroyers ever built for the Royal Navy and will provide the UK Defence with a world-class military capability.
On Friday 30 April, the Dauntless arrives in Newcastle for a visit to the City. To welcome the ship and mark the naming of the suite, which will feature framed pictures of the Dauntless, the Copthorne Hotel Newcastle will be hosting a VIP drinks reception. The Captain and Senior officers from the Dauntless have been invited, as well as the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Newcastle upon Tyne along with local dignitaries.
With views of the River Tyne and its famous bridges, the Copthorne Hotel Newcastle is perfectly situated on the cosmopolitan Quayside. Built around a glass atrium, the hotel provides 156 well-appointed bedrooms with relaxing views of the riverside. The hotel boasts eight function rooms ideal for organising and hosting a meeting, conference, training course or private dinner.
Craig Campbell, General Manager at the Copthorne Hotel Newcastle, commented: “We are very proud to have a strong affiliation with the Royal Navy’s Dauntless. We look forward to welcoming the ship and its crew to the city.”
