Leeds BS raises over £800 for Marie Curie Daffodil Appeal
Leeds Building Society has raised over £800 for the 2010 Marie Curie Cancer Care Great Daffodil Appeal. The Society's 67 Branches have been accepting donations for the daffodils from members of the public.
This annual campaign runs each Spring and, with the last few collections taking place and the money being counted, the total amount raised by Leeds Building Society currently stands at £895.53. Money raised from the Marie Curie Cancer Care Great Daffodil Appeal goes towards providing more free nursing care for people with a terminal illness in their own home and the charity's hospices.
Paul Kaye, Leeds Building Society's General Manager Sales, "We are delighted that we have been able to raise over £800 for the Marie Curie Cancer Care Great Daffodil appeal by selling the daffodils throughout our 67 strong Branch network. People have been very generous this year, and our staff in the Branches also got into the spirit throughout the campaign.
"The Daffodil campaign is one of the highlights of the year and signals the start to the year's fundraising activity. Marie Curie Cancer Care is one of Leeds Building Society's partner charities and a variety of events are planned for the remainder of the year. I am confident that the generosity of our staff and customers will help us raise more money for Marie Curie Cancer Care during the remainder of 2010."
