Vauxhall MasterFit leads the game in price

It is a common belief among motorists that despite the assurance of quality work, vehicle service, MOTs and bodyshop work using a manufacturers’ franchised retailer can often be more expensive when compared to using a local independent garage. However, a recent Vauxhall study into competitor pricing has shown that this is not the case.

The study by Vauxhall MasterFit has shown that quality vehicle servicing doesn’t necessarily have to come with a big price tag. The study found that MasterFit centres were actually cheaper in almost all service areas than many local independent garages and service centres including well known household names.

The analysis covering 10 per cent of the Vauxhall MasterFit retailer network nationwide showed that 88 per cent of services cost less with MasterFit than with local competitors across a range of parts and services, from tyres to timing belts and batteries to brake pads.

Examples include: A MasterFit centre offering tyres at 12 per cent less than a local, well known nationwide high street tyre retailer; a saving of 14 per cent for a major service on an Astra 1.6 model compared to a local independent garage; the replacement of a cambelt for a Corsa 16V 1.4 model was a staggering 35 per cent cheaper at a MasterFit centre over local competition in one major town; and new brake pads on a Corsa 1.2Sxi was an unbelievable 53 per cent cheaper at a MasterFit centre compared to one local independent garage.
