Two fabulous family themed show homes will open their doors in Birchgrove, near Swansea, this weekend (May 8 / 9) to showcase the style and quality of Redrow’s New Heritage Collection homes.

Visitors to Redrow’s Awel-y-Mor development can view these instantly recognisable traditional homes in all their glory thanks to a pair of show homes that have been professionally styled and furnished by an expert team of interior designers.

A range of 34 different homes, The New Heritage Collection is a premium housing product with more than a hint of nostalgia, influenced by the ‘Arts and Crafts’ era, but boasting a specification to meet the needs of modern lifestyles. Redrow has deliberately set out to reintroduce a high degree of individuality to the way its homes look and feel.

Rachael Davies, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (South Wales), said; “The emphasis for both of these show homes is the family and we’ve themed them to reflect all aspects of family life.

“Just like our New Heritage Collection homes, they combine the best of old and new so we’ve effortlessly blended the keepsakes and family ‘heirlooms’ that a family may have brought with them from their previous homes, with contemporary new furniture and cutting edge style.”

The four-bedroom Stratford has been designed to suit a family with a boy and girl under 10. The colour scheme is soft silver and ivory with metallic accents.

In the lounge, a silver leaf ceiling light pendant with crystals reflects the silver and grey leaf detail in the feature wallpaper. That theme continues through the room and in the elegant textured cushions with crystal trim. The spacious kitchen and dining room has a soft silver feature wall and includes a glass and chrome six-seat dining table, perfect for family dining and entertaining.

Glamour sets the tone for the master bedroom and en suite, which is an array of calming silver and white. Opulent feather-trimmed roman blinds complement the luxurious layered bed linen and chrome furniture.

The ice-skating themed young girl’s room is quirky and fun, incorporating subtle sequins, reminiscent of skating costumes, and mirrors in the form of ice skates on the walls. And a ‘space traveller’ boy’s bedroom, with moon pendant light, man on the moon themed wall paper and asteroid chair, wraps up this perfect family home.

In the spacious six-bedroom Hampstead the designers have chosen a traditional and elegant feel, with buttermilk tones and sage and floral soft furnishings in the impressive open plan kitchen, dining and family room. There’s a fully-fitted kitchen with floor to ceiling units and top name appliances, an impressive eight-seater dining table and a sofa and television area in the ‘family relax’ zone.

The large elegant lounge features textured white wallpaper and elegant French grey furniture, which contrast mirrored lamp tables.

A vintage typewriter and a weathered wood desk sit in one room, perfect for the author of the family. This bedroom also has a day bed with floral and plaid cushions and an antique-style cream chandelier.

Styled for a teenage girl, bedroom five has a gold glitter feature wall and catwalk theme, perfect for budding models. And for those who would prefer to be behind the camera there’s a photographic memorabilia in bedroom six, which also has a single bed for friends staying over.

Over the weekend of the launch, Redrow will have an independent financial advisor on hand to offer free impartial mortgage advice and an estate agent will also be attending to arrange part-exchange valuations for those who have an existing property to sell.

Part exchange is a hassle-free way to sell your home, with Redrow effectively acting as a cash buyer for your old house.

Homes from The New Heritage Collection at Awel-y-Mor are currently priced from £124,995 for a two-bedroom mid-terrace to £319,995 for a four-bedroom detached home. Larger properties, including the six-bedroom Hampstead will be introduced in later phases.

Within easy reach of Swansea Marina and the stunning Mumbles and Gower coastline, residents of Awel-y-Mor can relax and enjoy the tranquillity of their surroundings, yet they can also experience city life with Swansea’s shops, bars and restaurants just a few miles away.

For further information visit Awel-y-Mor for the launch of the two new show homes on Saturday and Sunday, May 8 and 9, from 10am to 5.30pm.
