Eco-living in Daventry

A new Daventry development is being promoted as a model for ‘greener’ living because of its emphasis on energy saving and renewable technologies.
Drayton View by Taylor Wimpey West Midlands (located on the Middlemore estate) comprises of new ‘eco-friendly’ homes which are built to the highest possible standards and use responsibly sourced materials. They also offer energy efficient light fittings and appliances in order to save money on running costs and protect the environment by reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
These ‘eco’ features can include cavity wall insulation, high efficiency taps, low flush cisterns, a shower save system, a gas save system, a time and delay start timer on the heating, plus a delay start thermostat. Each home also comes with a water butt, waste/recycling compost bins, garden shed and a rotary washing line. They have much larger windows that let in far more natural light and ultra efficient A-rated white goods and appliances can also be specified for the kitchen.
Sales & marketing director, Jan Titley, says: “Drayton View has been a success from the start and the green initiatives here have struck a chord with all of our buyers because they feel they’re doing their part for the environment. However they have also bought into our superb location which provides panoramic views over the far reaching vistas that Drayton View has to offer. If ever there was an all-encompassing development then this is it, because you’re close enough to the flourishing town centre to take full advantage of all of its amenities, while the idyllic location, expansive views and local recreational facilities lend themselves to a semi-rural existence that’s hard to come by these days.”
Drayton View is a picturesque development made up of designer apartments, mews and semi-detached family properties and executive detached homes. It benefits from plenty of allocated parking and long established hedgerows, protected mature trees and open fields to the side. Located at the northern edge of Daventry town and easily accessible from the M1, Drayton View is nicely tucked away at the rear of Middlemore, which itself enjoys new play areas, nature trails and cycleways, plus its own pub and a convenience store.
Daventry town itself has a small historic centre with a street market twice a week and a monthly farmers market. Closer still is Middlemore which is part of a series of pretty linked walks that take in the wildlife sites along two local reservoirs, disused railway lines and the Grand Union Canal towpath. Nearby Drayton Reservoir is surrounded by trees and waterside vegetation and a jetty-style wooden walkway. It also feeds into the Grand Union Canal, which is a conservation area popular with ramblers.
Latest availability at Drayton View is made up of contemporary three bedroom family homes with garage from just £162,500 and spacious four bedroom executive properties with garage from only £184,995. The Sales Office off Farnborough Road is open Thursday – Monday from 10am – 5pm.
