Camden venue hosts Bourbon Festival

28th April 2010 Print

This May will see the launch of the Bourbon Festival at Camden’s leading rhythm and blues venue and restaurant, The Blues Kitchen.

Kick starting on the 13th May, The Blues Kitchen will be celebrating a jam-packed evening of all things bourbon-related, including sampling the bar’s huge selection of bourbon with London’s first ever bourbon sommelier and of course, offering the best in live blues music, courtesy of blues and folk singer Marcus Bonfanti.

Rhythm and blues go hand-in-hand with a fine glass (or bottle!) of bourbon and with 50 different varieties on offer at The Blues Kitchen, there’s no better excuse to get stuck in and pick your favourite. Bourbon sommelier Freddy Donaldson will be guiding guests through the history of bourbon and matching a selection of food dishes with the different varieties.

For cocktail fans, why not try the ultra refreshing Mint Julip, an old south classic mix of Bourbon, mint and sugar or the Bourbon Smash, a twist of the Mint Julip with cranberry juice, fresh raspberries and mint.

Sit back with your bourbon, grab some friends and test your rhythm and blues knowledge with The Blues Kitchen music quiz. The winning team will win a bottle of bourbon of their choice. Blues and folk singer Marcus Bonfanti and his band will be hitting the stage at 9.30pm to complete the smooth blues atmosphere.

The Blues Kitchen Bourbon festival is free admission and doors open at 12pm. The bourbon tasting starts at 7pm.

Already at the forefront of live rhythm and blues, The Blues Kitchen delivers the best in rhythm and blues, soul and motown music seven days a week. Visit theblueskitchen.com for more information on upcoming events at The Blues Kitchen.
