Chevrolet sales hit new heights

9th January 2008 Print
Sales of new Chevrolet cars in Britain have reached an all-time high, with 18,356 new models sold in 2007.

The news comes after Chevrolet’s most exciting year since arriving in the UK in 2005, with the launch of the new Captiva SUV contributing significantly to the brand’s increased presence on British roads.

With an increase of 27.6 per cent in sales over 2006, Chevrolet saw its share grow across all areas of the market, including fleet and retail.

Chevrolet’s best-selling model for 2007 was the Matiz city car, which notched up an impressive 7,183 sales – an increase of 32.9 per cent against 2006.

What’s more, Chevrolet is geared up for an even more exciting year in 2008, with two new model launches in the first half of the year, and further exciting product news looking towards 2009.

Chevrolet UK’s managing director, Rory Harvey, said: “Our growth plan continues unabated and I’m delighted with the way we have grown the Chevrolet brand in 2007. Looking forward, we have even more excitement in the pipeline, and I look forward to seeing the Chevrolet brand become even more established as we introduce new models throughout the coming months.”

The new Aveo supermini, which debuts in the UK later in the spring, was first seen at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, and is a clear indicator of Chevrolet’s future design direction.
