Health and safety is golden for Peveril Homes

Midland’s house builder Peveril Homes is celebrating after winning a prestigious 2010 Occupational Health and Safety Award from The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

The RoSPA awards scheme is not only about reducing the number of accidents and cases of ill-health at work; it also encourages organisations to develop robust health and safety management systems.

This is the fifth consecutive year that the developer has achieved a gold award, and to recognise this achievement will be presented with a gold medal, and they’re hoping this trend will continue. Colin Wright, construction and technical director for Peveril Homes comments: “As a company we’re delighted that we’ve been awarded this gold medal. Health and safety is of paramount importance to us and we strive to ensure our standards are the highest they can be.

“We have stringent procedures in place to minimise the risk of accidents and injury and these are reviewed regularly. This is a great achievement for the whole team and shows that we care about our staff’s welfare.”

David Rawlins, RoSPA’s awards manager said: “Peveril Homes has shown a commitment to protecting the health and well-being of its employees and others. Organisations which do this deserve to have such dedication recognised and that’s where the RoSPA awards come in.”

The gold medal award will be presented to Peveril Homes’ contract managers Terry Wragg and Richard Fleckney at the presentation ceremony on Wednesday 12 May at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel.
