Chevrolet sales ahead in January

8th February 2008 Print
After a fantastic 2007, Chevrolet enjoyed further success in the first month of 2008, with its best-ever registration performance for the month.

In total, 2,079 new Chevrolets were sold in January, an increase of 81.4 per cent over the same period in 2007.

For the first time ever, Chevrolet also finished ahead of its major rivals, topping Hyundai, Kia and Suzuki in the hotly-contested value-for-money car market.

The news comes after a record sales year for the company, which saw its registrations increase by 27.6 per cent in 2007.

Much of the growth was down to the recently-introduced Captiva SUV, which accounted for over 15 per cent of Chevrolet registrations in January.

“This is a fantastic performance and it proves that Chevrolet is rapidly becoming more and more known as a brand in the UK,” said Rory Harvey, Chevrolet UK Managing Director. “These are very exciting times, as the brand has the potential to grow even further as we look to expand our model range.”

Two new models will join the Chevrolet line-up in 2008 – the Epica saloon and the Aveo supermini – both of which will go on sale late spring.
