Ducati UK turns to R&G Racing for protection

Ducati UK has agreed a deal with R&G Racing to supply crash protection for its fleet of demonstrator bikes.

The demonstrator fleet travels with the Ducati Roadshow attending over 20 events and bike meetings throughout the UK in 2010, forming a key part of Ducati UK’s marketing effort and dealer support programme

The fleet’s bikes are subject to use by hundreds of prospective customers over the year and with the constant use and transportation, the bikes are vulnerable to damage. To help maintain the availability of the highly demanded demonstrators and keep running costs down, Ducati have opted to use protection from British firm, R&G Racing.

The Ducati Road show consisting of 14 bikes, including the Hypermotard 1100 Evo and 796, Monster 696,796 & 1100, Multistrada 1200, Streetfighter and the 848 and 1198 superbikes, will be fitted with a selection of R&G Aero Crash Protectors, Fork Protectors, Spindle Sliders, Swingarm Protectors and Bar End Sliders.

While the fitment of crash protection isn’t absolute in guarding the machine, R&G’s products have been proven on the road and race track to significantly reduce the risk of major and costly damage from low side accidents and slow speed drops.

The deal will see the Ducati demonstrator bikes and its accompanying transporter featuring R&G branding.

Debbie Wiggins, marketing manager for Ducati UK, said: ‘I am delighted to secure this partnership with R&G as suppliers to our demonstrator fleet. These bikes are used continuously through the season and by using R&G products we hope to reduce both repair costs and the length of time any damaged bikes are off the road.’

R&G Racing’s sales & marketing director, Simon Hughes, also commented: ‘Obviously we’re very pleased that Ducati have put their trust into our products when looking to protect their much-valued demonstrator fleet. With the current climate and rising costs of running such a service, Ducati has made a sensible choice.’
