House hunters invited to visit Orbit at Birmingham Pride

Orbit HomeBuy Agents are delighted to be joining their colleagues from Orbit Heart of England to promote low-cost home-ownership during one of Birmingham’s most colourful and vibrant events of the year.
The sister companies will host an exhibition stand during Birmingham Pride on 29 and 30 May; an event which celebrates the city’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. A variety of activities will be taking place throughout the Spring Bank Holiday weekend in and around Hurst Street – the heart of the Birmingham’s gay ‘village’. These include a carnival parade, cabaret, comedy, and a talent contest as well as a wide range of market stalls.
“This will be the first time that we’ve attended and it promises to be an exciting event for us, but it also presents a real opportunity for those visiting Birmingham Pride who are in need of a home of their own,” said Orbit HomeBuy Agents Manager, Karen Coleman. “The event celebrates diversity and equality; which are ethics shared by Orbit and we are looking forward to introducing the range of HomeBuy products to people interested in finding a home they can afford in the region. At Orbit HomeBuy Agents, our aim is to match people with a good quality affordable home in the area in which they live and work. Whether they would like to buy or rent a home, we can help those with an annual household income of up to £60,000 so if you are attending the event, please pop along and see us.”
Orbit is the largest HomeBuy Agent in England, covering six ‘zones’ including Birmingham, Solihull and the Black Country. Orbit HomeBuy Agents act as a one-stop shop, to promote a range of products to people interested in finding an affordable home of their own. They could be first time buyers, key workers, people looking for a new home following a relationship breakdown, social housing tenants, or those on a local authority waiting list.
Visitors to Orbit’s stand will be able to find out about a number of HomeBuy products that are currently available, including New Build HomeBuy and HomeBuy Direct.
Under the New Build HomeBuy scheme, you would generally take out a mortgage for a share of the property and rent the remaining share at a discounted rate. You can then purchase additional shares in the future usually until you own the property outright.
There is another fantastic option in that many developers are now offering brand new homes for purchase through the HomeBuy Direct scheme. Those eligible can take advantage of equity loans provided jointly by the developer and the government of up to 30 per cent of the property value, with no interest to be paid on the loan for the first five years.
You can also find out about the Rent to HomeBuy and Intermediate Rent schemes, both of which are helping many people find an affordable home.
