Visitors to Caffyns Chevrolet Tunbridge Wells this week may have got quite a surprise – as a Matiz proudly lined up between two Ferraris in the showroom.

A Charity Auction held by Kent Ferrari Owners club last year raised the money to pay for the Matiz, which will in turn feature as the top prize in a raffle to raise money for the Darent Valley Hospital Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU), in Gravesend.

80s singer and TV presenter Cheryl Baker also stopped into the dealership, in North Farm Industrial Estate to pledge her support for the Cars for Cots campaign.

Cheryl Baker, whose twins were born prematurely, is supporting the hospital’s plans to expand the SCBU unit.

Claire Dominic, fundraising manager at Darent Valley hospital said: “What we need is more space to make sure that we can support very young babies across Kent. Cots cost around £12,000 each, a significant investment.”

Andrew Kitney, at Caffyn’s said: “We are very pleased to be a part of this event, and hope that the raffle raises lots of money for this fantastic cause.”
